Our Creative Journey
Our creative journey starts with the customer simply contacting us by email, phone or the form below. We will then get back to you within 24 hours to discuss your project. We are also happy to meet in person to discuss your idea and our product development process. During this process, we encourage our customers to talk to us to express their thoughts and concerns about their ideas. We listen carefully and make sure we take under consideration everything!
Your engagement into the creative process is vital to us, to fully understand the concept or the idea and the problem that a potential product needs to resolve. Your involvement will continue for 2 important reasons.
a) To avoid pointless design iterations and meet the project target more cost-effectively.
b) Discussing with you – the customer – and listening to your feedback is always essential to ensure that the project is going where your initial vision of your idea was. As soon as the problem is identified, we then start brainstorming to carefully consider all the necessary parameters and limitations, ensuring that at least some concepts are validated by meeting your project criteria. We will then prepare a brief presentation to allow you to visualise the preliminary 3D concept and provide us with your feedback. If you feel that a meeting is required, we can arrange that to discuss details any further details.
The winning concept then goes to the drawing desk, and we do what we love most. We design! If you want, we happily can provide you with pictures of the design progress as well so you can be up to date of the progress
As soon as the design is complete then we begin working on a proof of concept (mock up) prototype. We do offer integrated manufacturing solutions including:
a) 3D printed prototype in plastic
b) Vacuum casting for more challenging geometries
c) CNC machining for low cost precision CNC machined parts
The Process of Prototyping
We are happy to send over those prototypes to you to conduct your own tests and come back to us with your feedback for further product development and optimisation. A fully functional prototype can be manufactured in the end or a batch of parts if required by the customer.

The Creative Process
Step 1
Research, Benchmarking
As an engineering and design team we will start by transforming the outcome of the first stage into concepts that will meet your criteria. We will then work together on those concepts to progress the best features into a final concept design. As your engagement in this stage is important, we encourage our customers to meet with us. The goal is the outcome of this stage to summarise all the strengths and valid points that can be combined from various concepts under one conceptual proposal.
Step 2
Value Proposition Canvas
We will build together the ‘Value Proposition Canvas’ in order both sides to understand and agree what is the customer profile, what the potential pains of your products could be and what actions or processes could act as pain relievers. This is a crucial step to set the product specifications.
Step 3
Conceptual Design
This is an important step prior to the conceptual stage. We will investigate the idea in order to find the critical areas we will need to focus on during the product design journey. Those areas will be discussed with you along with other important things such as: • Market segment / audience • Competitors
Step 4
3D CAD Modelling
This is the stage where we will take the final concept and we will develop it to a digital 3D CAD file. Those files will be yours to keep in the end. The CAD models we develop will be complete and feasible manufacturable 3D models.
Step 5
Prototype Manufacturing
This is where you have the opportunity to see your 3D CAD model manufactured into a real prototype. In 3Dtechnologies4U, we are able to build:
- A prototype for proof of concept (typically for aesthetic or presentation reasons)
- A fully functional prototype in high quality
- A batch of prototypes or parts
- 3D plastic printing in a wide range of materials and coatings
- 3D metal printing in a wide range of materials
